Would it be difficult to make it work with Chromecast?

I don’t believe it would be feasible, as far as I know the Cast SDK is only available for mobile devices and chrome apps, not native windows applications
There is a python library which lets you stream something to chromecast. https://github.com/balloob/pychromecast
